Dreamcatcher Massage
Helping find balance in human and horse

Welcome

Welcome to Dreamcatcher Massage!

My primary focus with Dreamcatcher Massage is to provide services to both horse and rider to help strengthen their bond and enhance their competitive edge by helping them find harmony through their bodies. However, my services are not limited only to equestrians! While Dreamcatcher Massage continues to grow, my "day job" is working as a Licensed Massage Therapist at a pilates studio where I work on everything from post-surgery, runner's knee, tennis elbow, and hot stone relaxation massage.

I offer services to both human and horse, so please be sure to specify which species the massage will be for. For a full list of techniques and modalities, please click on the "Service & Rates" page. Each massage is fully customizable to suit the individual client's needs and can change from one massage to the next.

Also, if you'd like to schedule an appointment, please click on "Contact Me" and send me a message regarding day, duration, and approximate time that you are interested in, as well as if you prefer call, email, or text for reply. Please feel free to message me as well with any questions you might have about my services.

Why I Massage Both Horse and Rider

Many equestrians seek alternate modalities to help enhance their equine partner's performance. For many of us, we see to our horse's needs above our own, and pay great attention to their every need. From feed to tack, grooming supplies and supplements, equestrians diligently do their best for their partner's wellbeing. Thus equine massage itself won't be new to many, but few have ever considered partnering it with massages for themselves as well.

So why should an equestrian get a massage for themselves as well as their horse? One word - compensation. Even though we're all riders, many of us have "day jobs" as well, and even trainers will acknowledge having one side stronger than the other, one leg quieter, one hand noisier, one seat bone that tends to sink down more than the other. All of these are compensation patterns that form normally in the body through our day to day activities. Our horse's equipment is designed for close contact. Even Western saddles are trending to fit more closely. Well, what does that close contact do? It allows your horse to feel your body, and thus your aids, even better! Unfortunately, this may have a consequence as well.

Remember that compensation your body had? For example, let's say you have tight shoulders. Your shoulders will affect the alignment of your spine as you will try to use your dominant hand more, and the stiffness will prevent these motions from being as fluid as they should. Your horse will feel this, and it will form a similar compensation pattern in them! Likewise, if your horse has a "hollow" or "stiff" side, they will cause compensation patterns in you.

Thus for true harmony between both horse and rider, both members of the team need massage to reset their body's compensation patterns.
